Cooling gas oil*
A special oil must be used exclusively for R134a cooling gas circuits, and that should not be purchased in stores that sell oil for machines with cooling gas.
1) Each compressor has an oil quantity corresponding to its capacity.
1.0 l engines are equipped with Denso 10P08 fixed compressor.
1.6 l, 1.8l and 2.0 l engines used to have Denso 6P148A fixed compressor.
Today, 1.6 l, 1.8l and 2.0 l engines are equipped with Delphi CVC 803C variable compressor.
Other information:
Cooling gas oil is very hygroscopic (absorbs moisture); therefore, opened containers must be closed immediately after use to prevent ingress of moisture.
Because of its chemical properties, the cooling gas oil must not be disposed of along with engine oil or gearbox oil.
Oil distribution
The oil present in the compressor before starting the air conditioning by the first time is distributed through the cooling gas circuit as per table below; therefore, when such components are replaced, oil must be added, except for the compressor.
Delphi (CVC 803C compressor) manufacturer
* Compressor (must be installed with the same oil quantity as the previous compressor. If the former has no oil, the new one must be installed with at least 35 ml)
* Condenser 30 ml
* Evaporator 75 ml
* Dryer 50 mL
* Hose from compressor to condenser 10 ml
* Hose from condenser to dryer 7.5 ml
* Metallic tube from dryer to evaporator 7.5 ml
* Evaporator metallic tube to compressor hose 7.5 ml
* Metallic pipe hose to compressor 7.5 ml
NoteWhen replacing the compressor, slowly remove the replacement compressor plugs so that the gas used for pressurising is released. This prevents loss of compressor oil.
Denso (6P148A and 10P08 compressor) manufacturer
* Compressor (must be installed with the same oil quantity as the previous compressor. If the former has no oil, the new one must be installed with at least 35 ml)
* Condenser 50 ml
* Evaporator 50 ml
* Dryer 30 mL
* Hose from compressor to condenser 20 ml
* Hose from condenser to dryer 10 ml
* Metallic tube from dryer to evaporator 10 ml
* Evaporator metallic tube to compressor hose 10 ml
* Metallic pipe hose to compressor 15 ml
NoteWhen replacing the compressor, slowly remove the replacement compressor plugs so that the gas used for pressurising is released. This prevents loss of compressor oil.
When renewing the circuit components, correct the quantity of cooling gas oil. Check additional recommendations related to:
* Compressor replacement → Air conditioning with cooling gas R134a; Rep. Gr.00.
* Replacing the liquid container → Air conditioning with cooling gas R134a; Rep. Gr.00.
* Replacing other components → Air conditioning with cooling gas R134a; Rep. Gr.00.
If you are not sure about the quantity of cooling gas oil in the respective circuit, clean it, and then replenish with the recommended quantity of cooling gas oil → Air conditioning with cooling gas R134a; Rep. Gr.00.
